New Robert Interview

March 9, 2010

From Spunk-Ransom

A few days before the premiere of Remember Me, Robert Pattinson is scared. His new movie doesn’t have the billion dollar machine beehind it as Twilight does. The movie is intimate, simple and Robert is particularly scared of not making mountains of money this time because he dreads people will think he’s done if he doesn’t. The dice are still on the air for this one, all bets are on. We just have to wait and see how faithful his fanbase is, if luck is still on his side and justhow fleeting the Pattinson phenomenon is.

After seeing this movie I just have to ask: how do you want to be remembered?
I don’t want to be remembered in any particular way. For many reasons, I prefer to go unnoticed and that my death is something completely clean so nobody has to feel bad about it.

You’ve said that Remember Me is the most personal project you’ve ever done.
Yes, because I’ve become involved in every aspect of the movie. I thought I could play this character as close as possible to me, but as soon as I got into the role I realized that we’re very different.

Do you regret getting so immersed in the role?
In a way I do, yes. Because I had an idea in mind of how I wanted to play him before making the movie, and in the end I played a completely different character. I always forget that scripts change once you start shooting. I’ve tried to give the best of me and the final result is not what I expected. Still it’s been a great experience for me because I’ve learned so much.

Your character is rebellious, do you relate to him?
Yes, but what happens is that the character reminds me more of my sister and her friends. They were my inspiration when it came to playing the character.

Have you had a personal crisis now that you’re in your twenties?
Of course! We’ve all lived our adolescence like it was some sort of period of freedom and we don’t accept the world like it is, but when you reach 20 or 21 years old you realize that you have adapt yourself and accept reality. There’s no teenager that ddoesn’t have an identity crisis. When I was 22 I got that crisis when I thought I wasn’t young anymore, and I obsessed with thinking that I was a fake for playing characters that have nothing in common with me. Luckily I’m over that phase.

How do you live knowing that everybody wants a piece of you?
The most important thing is to take controlof your life, trying to control it asmuch as you can. On one hand, you have fans chasing you, photographers, and that can make you feelanxious, but at the same time you have the luck of being offered amazing projects like Remember Mem which was the project that I wanted for solong and not many actors had access to it. But I have to confess, so much attention makes you paranoid.

Are you afraid of being who you are?
Of course! Now I’m so aware of every stepI take, I have less freedom too, I can’t afford to make a mistake, butI’m also afraid of being successful. I end uplosing either way.

Many people say that your career is taking off exactly like Leonardo Di Caprio’s career after Titanic, what do you think about that?
It’s weird because I’m starting to work in many independent movies and DiCpario was nominated for an Oscar when he was like 11 (NOTE from Vale: He was actually 19, for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, 1993.). The situation is different. He always knew he wanted to be an actor, and I just had the opportunity come to me by chance. The downside is that with somuch attention around me I feel like I don’t have the opportunity to learn like he learned when he was a kidi n Hollywood, and I have to guide myself with my better judgement and my team’s.

The pressure of being Robert Pattinson must be very strong, being an actorexpected to make millions and millions of dollars now. You’re almost a brand now.
I can’t deny that tthat’s the true monster and it doesn’t work in my favor, it works against me. I mean, the more people think they know me, the more I want to hide and identify myself with other things. People ask me a lot if I’m afraid of being type cast, but what really scares me ismaking a bunch of money with just one character, because it will limit my career. In Hollywood is all about the box office results. As soon as you make a movie that bombs, a lot of people are going to label you and say you’re done. And I don’t think that’s fair, because not everything you make is going to turn into gold, and I definitely want to choose movies with different colors.

What kind of movies do you want to make?
I would make only small movies, however that can lead to me being unemployed in ten years. So I have to think carefully about every step I take. I know I can’t completely turn my back to blockbuster movies.

Is there an actor that you look up to?
Joaquin Phoenix, and Ryan Gosling has done great movies. But Joaquin is my hero because all his cards are wild, and he doesn’t care what people think about him or the industry.

Now tell me the truth… are you single?
And with that we’re done (laughs), am I single?

From Laniey Gossip

My sources tell me exclusively that Stewart’s presence at London Fashion Week is no accident. Anna Wintour is there. They are meeting. Similar to how Wintour was with Rachel McAdams, they are working out the details for Stewart’s … VOGUE COVER. Should be dropping around the release of Eclipse. There was some discussion and negotiation around the interview – while Vogue is by no means as dishy as, say, Vanity Fair, they are pushing for more substance in addition to the expected style profile. And Stewart has been reluctant to open up personally. Wintour will try to dictate, Stewart will push back. The tension could lead to an awesome collaboration. Keep you posted.

– This is REALLY big! First off all, she’s going to be alone AND on the cover! When Rob and Emilie was in Vogue it wasn’t even for the cover! Way to go Kristen!

From The Daily Record

PURSUED by screaming fans wherever he goes, Twilight star Robert Pattinson admits he gets his freedom watching Braveheart.

Thee 23-year-old hearthrob, nicknamed RPattz, says although he hasn’t been able to get to a cinema for two years, he can’t get enough of the Mel Gibson Oscar-winning film about Scotland’s greatest patriot William Wallace.

He admitted: “I saw Braveheart on the television the other day and I’ve been watching it four times a day since. It’s my favourite film. I haven’t been to the cinema in two years.”

Since he started playing smouldering vampire Edward Cullen two years ago, the London actor has become one of the world’s biggest and most lusted after stars.

Last year, while filming new movie Remember Me, he was hit by a taxi while running away from fans and he’s a pin-up from America to Japan.

Girls – even grannies – ask him to bite them and in November last year a 2000-strong crowd of girls turned out to see him at a fan party in London.

Added to that is the are they-aren’t they relationship between him and Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.

Robert’s sudden fame has sometimes made him moan. Last year, he told the Record he couldn’t stay in the same place for more than 20 minutes without gaggles of girls surrounding him.

He now reveals that he has started to apologise to people he meets for his over-exposure.

He started out as a model and fell into acting in 2004. Just a year later he was cast as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter And the Goblet Of Fire.

Robert said: “A lot of people value fame very highly, much more highly than they should and they get angry when they see people either not respecting their own fame enough or thinking that they’ve got famous undeservedly. I took a step in one direction and it kind of just happened, so I can’t really claim anything.

“But I find myself at parties having to apologise for a lot of things, just for being myself. It’s kind of weird – you can never just walk into a place and just reinvent yourself, you’ve always got to explain yourself first, which is tiring.”

Being the main star of Twilight has seen RPattz become a multi-millionaire. His earnings last year were reportedly £11.25million thanks to the second film in the Twilight Saga films: New Moon, which will be released on DVD on March 22.

It starts another busy year for the actor, whose next film Remember Me with Pierce Brosnan is out in April, and the third film in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse will hit the cinema screens on July 9.

Robert is chatting in a London hotel room and he doesn’t look like his famous vampire character because he has grown a beard for new film Bel Ami. He admits for the first time in two years he’s been able to walk around his home city largely undetected.

“I would like to do an audition with no one knowing who I am and see what would happen though,” he laughed.

What’s it like being back in London? Given he’s been jetting around the world for premieres, is it different now?

“It’s really different,” he admitted. “I’ve been here for such a little time in the last three years. I used to live in Soho and when I came back this time everything was closed. It’s weird. Everywhere I used to go to, everything was closed.”

While he was back in London, there were rumours Simon Cowell had offered him a record deal. The actor, who plays guitar and piano, sang and co-wrote on the Twilight soundtrack Never Think and also sang on Let Me Sign, has admitted he wants to do a solo album.

He said: “I don’t know when or how and the annoying thing is, it has to be so good or people will just write it off immediately.”

There is also talk he is in the running to play Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4. He and High School Musical star Zac Efron’s names have been banded about after Tobey Maguire was axed from the franchise.

Robert laughed: “I don’t think I’m going to be playing Spider-Man, even though I would quite like to do it.”

For the moment, he has been rehearsing in London for new film Bel Ami, which started shooting last week.

It stars Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas and is the movie adaption of French writer Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel of the same name. Robert plays a Parisian journalist who gains power in the city through the manipulation of some very wealthy women.

It’s a very different kind of film to the almost chaste Twilight which is aimed at teens.

There are some steamy sex scenes with Pulp Fiction star Uma Thurman and Robert admits they are near the knuckle.

“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal.

“There’s a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I’m asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well.”

He is also set to star in the final Twlight film based on the books Breaking Dawn, which may be broken into two films, due to the number of books.

He admits to mixed emotions about the end of the saga.

He said: “”It will be strange but it will be great just to be able to know what I’m doing. Not knowing when Breaking Dawn is going to shoot – because it changes all the time – is a kind of burden, to have this thing where you don’t know when it’s going to happen.

“So you’ve got to organise everything in your life around that and that can be difficult.”

Whether he and co-star Kristen, who plays Bella in the Twilight films, are an item is a question Robert manages to dodge. He has never confirmed the relationship and neither has she, despite the fervent speculation about them.

He will admit he has no problem with relationships but admits he is paranoid anyone close to him could sell a story.

He said: “Actual real relationships with people you have known for ages never change. Like all of my friends, every one I’ve known, it’s all exactly the same.

“It’s just new people. If you meet a crowd of people, a lot of times you think someone is going to say something, someone could be going to sell a story about you.

“The majority of times, nothing bad ever happens, but having that paranoia there is very annoying.”

GossipCop found out that this interview is FABRICATED

Any comments attributed to Robert Pattinson are going to get huge attention, especially with regards to the highly anticipated Bel Ami he’s making with Uma Thurman, and especially if outlets can throw in the word “sex.”

“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing,” Pattinson is quoted as saying to The Daily Record. The comments were quickly (and not surprisingly) picked up everywhere. “[Thurman’s character] kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal,” Pattinson supposedly adds.

Bel Ami is an adaptation of French writer Guy de Maupassant’s novel, in which Georges Duroy (Pattinson) is a social climbing journalist and playboy. As Gossip Cop confirmed last month, Christina Ricci has also signed on to the project.

Gossip Cop was told by a source close to Pattinson that the Daily Record interview is a “fabrication.”

The source adds, Pattinson “never spoke to the [Scottish] Daily Record.”

Let’s all look forward to reading what crap OK!Magazine might have made up this time, until the magazine comes out, here’s the cover!

From OK! Magazine whom I hate (: most of the facts are true, but the ones were they link to their own covers with their exclusive sources and bla.bla.bla is just bla.

While the rest of the world went about business, forTwilight fans all over the globe, there was only one story worth reading about in 2009: The romance between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, otherwise known as Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in the popular tweenage vamp series. Missed something? OK! takes a look back at the year in Robsten to fill in the gaps.

• With no Kristen around and New Moon filming far off, Rob complained about not being able to get a date in NYC. After reading that story, eleventy billion R-Pattz fans bought plane tickets to find him and assure him that they were available.

• The cast of New Moon finally reunites up in Vancouver to begin filming. Rob and the rest of the gang head out on the town to help Kristen celebrate her birthday. Kristen was still dating Michael Angarano at the time, but still… Wonder if she got a birthday smooch?

• Kristen returns the birthday love, going out with Rob for his birthday in Vancouver. With Kristen by his side, we can guess what he wished for!

• The heat turns up on Robsten as the two are spotted acting awfully flirtatious at a concert in Vancouver.

• Burgeoning passion between the two almost boils over during a fake-out kiss at the MTV Movie awards, after the twosome won “Best Kiss.” We’re sure they had fun practicing that one! A friend tells OK! after the awards: “Robert and Kristen spent a lot of time alone together when they filmed the first Twilight movie — they’d stay up most of the night talking, laughing, playing music. Although [Robert] knew Kristen had a boyfriend, he made no secret of the fact that he was crazy about her.”

• Just when things are heaing up between Rob and Kristen, he heads to NYC to start filming Remember Me while she stays behind in L.A. to film The Runaways.

• Twilight’s director Catherine Hardwicke sort of admits the two could be dating. Crowds of fans crow, “Told ya so!”

• Sick of waiting on Kristen to break up with Michael Angarano, Rob tells her to choose. And (eventually), she picks R-Pattz!

• Kristen summons the courage to split with Michael

• Kristen and Michael are done with (or near enough to it), and before seeing him again at Comic Con in San Diego, she gets herself prepped to go full steam ahead with Rob.

• Reunited and it feels so good! While their public reunion is a bit awkard, the private meet-up goes much better for Robsten.

• With both Rob and Kristen both back in L.A. before heading to Vancouver to film Eclipse,R-Pattz is spotted speeding away from her house.

• The very next day, Kristen tries to sneak out of Rob’s hotel, the Chateau Marmont. Five minutes later, he exits out a side door.

• After the Teen Choice Awards, Rob and Kristen jump into the same car to spend time together instead of going to afterparties. So romantic!

• Back in Vancouver during the filming of Eclipsethe twosome snuggle up at a Kings of Leon concert.

• When you’re young and in love, why not talk about getting engaged? “If Kristen is looking for Rob, she’ll say, ‘Has anyone seen my husband?’’’an insider told OK! at the time. “And Rob loves to say, ‘Have you met my lovely wife, Kristen?’ It’s cute. They’re like a couple of love-struck teenagers.”

• A hostess at the Twilight gang’s frequent hangout in Vancouver says the two just seem to make each other happy. “You can just tell by looking at them,” she told OK!. “They’re really cute together, always smiling.

• OK! shows readers inside the digs Rob and Kristen shared in Vancouver during filming, where they spent much of their happy time at home together.

• Robsten comes back with a vengeance in a Harper’s Bazaar magazine shoot that shows exactly how compatible they really are!
• While in Paris promoting New MoonRob & Kristen take their romance totally public, holding hands on the way to their plane.

• Rob and Kristen lay low at the end of the year and prepare for the holidays; howeverRob does venture out in L.A. briefly. Who knows what the new year will bring!

Duel of the Hotties
Robert Pattinson vs. Zac Efron:
But who of the young stars is ahead by a nose?

Twilight brought 270 million Euros in worldwide. The successor New Moon which started two weeks ago, broke all records by now and is at the top of the worldwide movie charts. And Robert graces every magazine cover around the whole globe, here the mens magazine GQ .

Robert had to campaign longer than one year for his fellow actress Kristen Stewart. They are a couple for a few months now. He will take her to his family to London over Christmas. Future prospects: rosy.

8 million Euros went in Roberts pocket for New Moon , the 2nd part of the vampire saga. It s said that he got the same amount for the 3rd movie ( Eclipse ). Merchandise like the Rob-Barbie is great hit. The Beau is still decent though: His hugest luxury is an ex from 1950, he says.

In February he will seduce Uma Thurman then he starts his shooting for Bel Ami . Before that he’s in front of the camera with Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman for the western Unbound Captives . His target: substantiate that he can’t impress only teens.
